This is a video on how to create a Pinterest account for law firms. It describes the set-up from start to finish. It also describes how to create keyword targeted boards and how to cultivate relationships in order to acquire followers. The example used in this video is: https://pinterest.com/assetattorney/
“Hi, my name is Chris Dreyer, President and Founder of AttorneyRankings.org. In this video, I’m going to show you how to create a Pinterest account for your law firm in order to use it to get clients. The first step is to go to Google and type in Pinterest. Go to Pinterest. Click on join. You can sign-up with Facebook or Twitter but let’s use the sign-up using your email address. In this field, let’s go ahead and pick our username. In this example, we’re going to use the law firm MWPatton, an asset protection attorney in Miami.
Go ahead and click on upload your photo. It’s always good to have one ready. We’re going to pull one directly from the website. Go ahead and click create. In this beginning section, they’re going to want you to pick a few interests. This really doesn’t matter at the beginning. You can just pick any of these. It’s just a prompt that you have to fill in in order to move on. You can remove these when you’re finished. You have to do the same thing when you’re choosing your boards. This is your first board creation. He’s an asset protection attorney so let’s do Miami Asset Protection Lawyer. Go ahead and create this board.
It’s going to ask you to confirm your email so I already have the email setup right here. Go ahead and go into your email. Click confirm. The next step you’re going to want to do is click on the top right over here and go to settings. You’re going to want to make sure that you have the correct permalink. This is very important for SEO as this will use a keyword to rank in the search engines. You also want to fill in this About section. I’m just going to fill it with some text just to show you. I’m actually going to pull it directly from the website just to show you where it’s placed on the site, on Pinterest, and I’ll go ahead and change this in the future.
You want to use unique copy here. He’s in Miami. And the website is MWPatton. I’m going to leave these off. You can sync it with your social networks with Facebook and Twitter. It allows for easier tweeting and sharing on those mediums. We can do that in the future. It’s very important to sync content into all social media assets so that you can get more referrals and expand your reach even further. As you notice, here’s the text that we pulled from the website. This is where you’ll want to put some keyword dense phrases. You can also change this. I’m using his personal name, Wayne Patton. You could also change it to the name of the firm here. And you can do that in settings as well.
As you can see, the first board we created is the Miami Asset Protection Lawyer board. What we’re going to do is upload our first pin to this board. So let’s go ahead and go up to the right and hit add. Upload a pin. Choose a file, and I’ve already got this image from his website selected. You’ll want to do a brief description. In this section, you’ll also want to use hashtags. This helps to make it more search engine friendly on Pinterest. You can add a few here. You’ve got quite a bit of characters to add text in there, but I’m just doing this very short for an example. Here’s our pin. If you uploaded a pin, you’re going to want to edit it to pull a URL because it’s going to use the link of the image. So it’s not going to go anywhere unless you actually add the URL.
Go ahead and hit save. If you’re using the pin functionality like I have saved on my menu bar, then it will actually use the location of the URL. So you won’t have to go in and edit the URL of the image. But otherwise, you will have to. So let’s go ahead and click back on the Home button and you’ll notice our pin right here. It’s very important to target keywords with your top boards. It’s a good idea to use specializations. For instance, if we went to MWPatton, he has a service called Master Limited Liability Company. That would be a great board. The Second Portable Offshore Asset Protection Trust would be a great board to create in these locations.
When you’re creating a Pinterest account for business, you want to be very identifiable. You want to create all niche appropriate topics so that when someone lands on your page they know exactly what you do. You don’t want to be posting and pinning just anything because it leads to confusion. We’re going to be concentrating a lot on asset protection and his specializations. In the beginning, you’re not going to have any followers. So it’s important that you’re very active in the community. And ways to do that are go up into the search button. We’re interested in asset protection pins so let’s go ahead and type in asset protection. This will populate a lot of pins on asset protection.
So for example, if we were interested in sharing this book, we would go ahead and click re-pin. You would pin it to a location or create a new board. You can fill in text. It’s very important to fill in text here. I’m not going to do it for the sake of this example but the more text you have here the more search friendly it is. So it’s important to use text and hashtags here. Let’s go ahead and hit pin. And then it will prompt you – this little spot here – to see if you want to follow this user. We’ll go ahead and follow this user. I normally wouldn’t. But a lot of times when you follow users they will reciprocate and follow you in return.
So if you’re looking at these pins, you can go ahead and pin a lot of appropriate images to your account and you’ll get reciprocation that way. Another way is to check out boards. You can see your competitors and other people interested in asset protection. You can go ahead and follow multiple boards and often they’ll reciprocate. You can also click on Pinners and check out accounts that are very similar and follow those as well. Basically, the main use and the main way to use Pinterest to acquire clients is to cultivate relationships by re-pinning, by being active, liking their pins, commenting. All of those ways will help cultivate relationships. At some point, you’re going to have multiple boards that are going to extend down the page.
It’s important that in this first section, you create your main specialization, your main practice areas, because these are the most visible. When someone lands on your site, on your Pinterest account, these are the first ones that appear. So it’s very important that your main specializations and offers are in these top location. But you can create as many boards as possible. There’s a direct correlation between the number of pins you do. The more people you follow, the more people will follow you in return. At some point it will become automated. You’ll start getting a lot of followers because of all the assets and pins that you already have on your account.
So that’s how you create a Pinterest account to get clients for your law firm. If you have any questions, my name is Chris Dreyer at AttorneyRankings.org. Thank you.”
